Awful experience. Reading the reviews before coming, I thought this place would be fine. I paid a little more to get the better hotel, just so I could be sure me and my family would be comfortable and get a good night sleep. Unfortunately, that is not how it worked out. The room was not disgusting, but also not properly cleaned. The bath tub would not drain and was very dirty. The worst part of all was that I could hear the person next door's TV loud and clear and the people upstairs walking back and forth for HOURS. From around 2 30 AM on, I was unable to sleep due to all the noise. I don't think the walls could get any thinner. I would not stay here again.
Some years ago, I decided that I no longer wanted to stay in hotels without lids on the toilet, and that I had reached a position in life that did not require me to stay in budget hotels. So I was very surprised to see that there was toilet lid in my room at the Comfort Inn in Scottsboro. I was particularly surprised, given that the hotel gives every other indication of aspiring to class (nice decor, the ledges in the bathtub). But a toilet with no lid, directly beneath the clean towels, was just too gross for me. Other than that, the hotel was lovely. The room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was a notch above adequate, and the service was very friendly.
Absolutely not worth the money they charge for this place. They charge like a nice hotel but deliver a substandard experience.
The company display card on our bed was dirty and sticky, the bathtub drained horribly, the comforter was stained, the walls amd floor/ ceiling were so thin that we could hear everything going on to both sides and above us (the noise was horrible and started as early as 3 AM and went till as late as 10 PM), there were damaged and gouged sections in the wall in our room, and the heater/ AC couldn't keep the room at a comfortable temperature....
Telephone in the room didn't work, alarm clock didn't work, hbo listed in the tv lineup of channels didn't work, water flow in bathroom sink had very low pressure. Then there was breakfast, oh my..... biscuits would have made great bricks, when we told the clerk she said "just stick them in the microwave and they will soften up", that was a shocking answer. Coffee urns empty. The staff were dressed more like grounds keepers in jeans and tee shirts (women) we weren't sure who worked there and who didn't. Stayed at a comfort inn in Jasper Al that was more than a difference of night and day, the hotel was fabulous in comparison, right down to the receipt for our stay. We give Jasper Comfort Inn a 9 out of 10.
Excellent choice for anyone or family looking for a great place to spend a night or week. Super clean spacious rooms with all the amenities you could ever need. Friendly top notch professional staff and they offer a great breakfast to get you and your family going for the day. I will be proud to recommend this Comfort Inn & Suites to everyone. To whom ever the owners are Be Proud and Build More.
Definitely not a place I would enjoy staying at again and absolutely not worth the money they charged us. Horrible value for the money and an irritating experience.
